Celebrating the Amsterdam School architectural movement (1910–1930), this museum (2001) is housed in a former post office designed by Michel de Klerk, whose expressionist brickwork makes the building itself a masterpiece. Exhibits showcase the movement’s social housing ideals, with intricate models, stained glass, and furniture that blend art and utility. The name "Het Schip" (The Ship) comes from the ship’s bow-like tower, a hallmark of the style. A short walk from the city center, it’s a tribute to Amsterdam’s progressive design history and working-class roots.
